He is an active supporter of HomeAid and editorial director of three best-selling books on residential architecture, “Pure California,” “Tuscan and Andalusian Reflections” and “Homes and Courtyards.”

Carl Lagoni works with the entire Bassenian/Lagoni Architects team to ensure the firm meets client needs by delivering design excellence and unparalleled service. As Vice Chairman, Carl’s singular focus helps Bassenian/Lagoni Architects set the standard for professionalism and integrity in our field. Through regular communication with clients around the globe, Carl develops a keen sense for the design solutions and service standards that keep Bassenian/Lagoni Architects an industry leader. In addition, Carl refines many of the firm’s designs and his keen eye for detail and marketability helps garner the firm an unprecedented number of industry awards.

As President, Jeff LaFetra is in charge of all aspects of day-to-day operations. A licensed Architect with more than 30 years of design and management experience, Jeff joined Bassenian/Lagoni Architects in 1995. A multidisciplined global background enables Jeff to readily assess business and client needs, both domestic and international and recommend solutions that keep the firm positioned as a leader in the architectural design and planning industry.

Joining the firm in 1983, Lee is responsible for administration and financial management. Lee prides himself in developing and maintaining solid business practices along with a strong staff to deliver a consistent, high level of service to the firm's builder-developer clients. Dave, a Kent State graduate and licensed Architect, joined the firm in 1986. As a Senior Principal and Director of Design, Dave leads the firm’s design efforts while managing relationships with a number of our builder-developer clients. Dave is instrumental in product development and passionate about housing. "I’ve been fascinated with housing since early childhood. Of course, then I had no idea of its magnitude, or how much more important it would be today with our changing resources and demographics. I look forward to the future in housing and our role in shaping it with our clients here in the United States and abroad."

As Senior Principal and Director of International Design, Kevin’s responsibilities include client management, product design, design team management and research and development of the firm’s International work. With more than 20 years of design experience, Kevin is instrumental in the evolution of new design directions for the firm. His finely honed design sense frequently contributes to new housing solutions for clients around the globe. Kevin also serves as mentor to many of the firm’s junior design staff.

A University of California, Berkeley graduate, and member of the American Institute of Certified Planners, Scott joined the firm in 1989. Responsible for directing all comprehensive land planning efforts, he is an expert in integrating the latest high-density architectural concepts with innovative land planning techniques. His experience leading public agency presentations involving myriad interdisciplinary issues ensures outstanding project results. Under Scott's leadership, Bassenian/Lagoni Architects' integrated approach to community planning and architectural innovation contributes to excellent results for the firm’s builder-developer clients.

A California Polytechnic State University, Pomona graduate and licensed Architect, Steven has been with the firm since 1987. His studies included one year at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark. Steven is responsible for the staff management, staff development and scheduling of the Design Department. In addition, he manages client relationships, oversees select design projects and the firm's charitable projects. Steven's diligent, thorough and decisive approach in these significant areas consistently results in meeting or exceeding client needs. His ability to strategically maneuver resources creates a highly effective workflow within the company.

Ken is a principal in the firm with nearly 20 years experience. He oversees the Production Department including project management as well as the firm's CAD and computer operations. Ken joined Bassenian/Lagoni Architects in 1988, after receiving his Bachelor of Architecture degree from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Ken holds California Architect registration (#C-23971), is an active member in the American Institute of Architects and participates in the Orange County Chapter of the BIA.
